On Thursday we set up our block party supplies for the children to enjoy during the city wide sidewalk sale. We painted faces, tied balloon animals, tattoos, and had jump castles.

Yesterday we had a slight change in our plans because of some rain. So we decided to head over to the Salvation Army and help them with whatever they needed. We helped them clean out a storage trailer and then organize everything. We stayed for lunch and then headed back to the hotel to get ready to prepare and serve the evening meal.
On Tuesday we spent all day in the city. We rode the ferry, visited ground zero, shopped, NBC studios tour, times square, and the Empire State Building.
Monday night was a fun night. We spent the evening serving a meal at the quarterly volunteer firefighter meeting. The firefighters showed us around the station.
We have been busy and I haven’t had time to post. I will try and give you some quick updates tomorrow. It mainly depends on our schedule. Monday started out early by handing out newspapers at the local train station. We spent some time praying for the town of Stamford. Part of our group went back to the train station to pass out free waters. Monday afternoon we prepared a meal for the local volunteer firefighters.
Last night we held a end of the week vbs party. We set up carnival games, bounce houses, balloon animals, face painting, and served dinner.
Today we visited the Brooklyn Tabernacle for their 9 am service. It was a great worship experience. After church we found a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant. It has been a good day.
Today we experienced rain and a ton of traffic on our way up. There was a bad wreck on the interstate that we passed. We found a great pizza place for lunch and checked into our hotel. We even got our first glimpse of the statue of liberty.
We just got to the Hotel and getting into bed. We had a good day of driving with minimal traffic. Andrew led our devotion tonight and encouraged us to be exactly who God has called us to be. To serve and forget the distractions back home.
